Acta Marine's methanol-fuelled CSOVs

In 2022, Ulstein Design & Solutions AS signed a design contract on two methanol-fuelled CSOV vessels for Acta Marine, with an option for two more vessels. The vessels will be constructed at the Tersan yard. Follow the progress here.

The CSOV designs for Acta Marine are the first to introduce the ULSTEIN TWIN X-STERN. These Construction Service Operating Vessels are based on the ULSTEIN SX216 design. The vessels will be delivered with dual-fuel methanol/diesel power generators.

Steel cutting ceremony for Acta Marine’s CSOV

The steel cutting ceremony of the first of two next-generation Methanol MDO/HVO powered DP2 Construction Service Operating Vessels for Acta Marine was arranged on 18 January 2023 at Tersan. The SX216 design of the vessel has been developed exclusively and in close collaboration with Ulstein Design & Solutions AS.

We have been shortlisted

Ulstein has been nominated for two awards by the Offshore Support Journal, the 'Innovation of the Year Award' for the TWIN X-STERN® design, and the 'Offshore Renewables Award', together with Acta Marine, for the ULSTEIN SX216 project. The award winners were announced at the OSJ conference on 8 February.
