Ship history
The first two newbuilds from the new Oceana yard in Brazil were ULSTEIN designs, platform supply vessels of the PX105 design. Both entered into operations on long-term contracts for Petrobras.
In his speech on the occasion of the naming ceremony of CBO Oceana in March 2016, yard manager Paul Kempers stressed the beauty of the vessel and the good cooperation between Ulstein and the yard in order to complete this high-quality ship.
?During her sea trial, I received several reports from the engineers and the Captain on the excellent results,? Mr Kempers said. For the second ship, using the experience gained from the CBO Oceana, Mr Kempers is convinced that the construction process will be a smooth one.
Vessel number two entered into operation for Petrobras more than two months prior to the agreed start date.
These vessels have a high operational window and can take on complex assignments far from shore. They come with the X-BOW® hull line design feature, in which slamming and abrupt stops from waves are minimised. The vessels are cost-effective and fuel-saving, and the crews get more efficient rest, which also increase safety. The size and versatility of these vessels make them suitable for many markets and operations.
The Ulstein contract with Oceana includes designs and equipment, as well as engineering.
