Ship history

The vessel was delivered to Island Offshore on 6 April 2006, and named 'Island Pioneer' the day after.
Island Offshore had a firm contract for the vessel, and after delivery, the "Island Pioneer" had a large crane installed for her first assignment in the Gulf of Mexico.

The hull arrived at Ulstein Verft from Poland in the middle of November 2005, and the outfitting and completion was done in four and a half months, a short time for such a large and advanced vessel. The yard accomplished to meet the planned delivery date.
