As wind farms grow larger and more ambitious, the demand for efficient cable installations has intensified. Enter the ULSTEIN SX225, a vessel designed to tackle the challenges head-on.
Offshore wind energy generation is one means to reach international climate goals. Ulstein has developed offshore wind designs since 2006. The designs draw on our broad experience in oil and gas, and range from new turbine installation concepts to foundation installation vessels and service operation vessels.

On 4 April 2024, the keel laying ceremony took place for the DP3 cable laying vessel (CLV) Nexans Electra. This vessel will transport and lay various types of subsea cables, including cable bundles, as well as handle recovery and repair operations for Nexans Marine Operations AS in Norway.
On Saturday, 6 April, the CSOV Olympic Boreas was launched from the dock hall at Ulstein Verft, Norway. The vessel is based on the novel TWIN X-STERN solution, a '4-wheel-drive' solution for the seas.

A large part of the scope will mainly affect the steel and outfitting department but during its stay the project will at some point engage all the departments in Ulstein Verft.
