The ULSTEIN® POWER Variable Speed Generator (VSG) has been designed to optimise power generation on marine vessels by dynamically adjusting its speed to match load requirements. Together with technical measures and overall ship design, the operational results on the CSOV Olympic Boreas show a record-low 2.7-tonne fuel consumption per 24 hours during a week of DP operations.
The newly delivered Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) Olympic Boreas has been awarded the “Maritime Innovation of the Year” award by GCE Blue Maritime Cluster. Delivered in July, this state-of-the-art vessel was developed in collaboration with the shipowner Olympic and several of the companies in Ulstein Group.
From the Caribbean to the Antarctic, from the lab to the ship, the service engineers at Ulstein Power & Control face new challenges and opportunities every day. Their main tasks are to offer the best service and support for the control and power systems on board ships.
2023 marked a year of diverse achievements for Ulstein – from the drawing board to the open seas, delivering state-of-the-art vessels that embody our expertise and dedication.
Ulstein Power & Control AS has been chosen to integrate advanced power and control systems into two ULSTEIN SX222 Construction Service Operation Vessels for Olympic.
Bluewild's new trawler will primarily be used for shrimp and whitefish trawling. Ulstein has developed a battery hybrid propulsion solution that is expected to provide large reductions in diesel consumption and emissions. This is solved by improving the efficiency of a wide range of power requirements.
When ‘Blue Power’ reported the fuel consumption for a transit mission to their charterer, the reply was that the numbers must be wrong. The consumption was simply too low!
