Yno 247 - Normand Progress

Hull No. 247 built in 1999 by Ulstein Verft AS for Solstad Rederi AS, Norway. On the vessel's sea trial, 'Normand Progress' set a world record in bollard pull, when pulling 304 tonnes for 10 minutes. The yard received a diploma from Guinness World Records that confirmed the record.

Skipet er eit multifunksjonelt ankerhanderingsfartøy/slepefartøy/forsynings- og subseaservicefartøy av typen UT742 designa av Ulstein Ship Technology AS. Skipet skal støtte behova i offshoreindustrien etter kvart som oljeleiting og oljeproduksjonen vert forflytta til djupare farvatn. UT742 er designa og tilrettelagt for subseainstallasjonsarbeid og -tenester, og kan også bli tilpassa til enklare boring og liknande oppgåver. 'Normand Progress'er utstyrt og sertifisert som eit 'Class II'-skip, og er førebudd for ei seinare tilpassing til 'Class III'.

På prøveturen sette skipet verdsrekord i slepekraft då det i 10 minutt slepte 304 tonn vaier. Det lokale lensmannskontoret var til stades og kunne stadfeste rekorden, og verftet fekk oversend diplom frå Guinness Rekordbok.

The UT 742 is a Super Large Multifunctional Anchor Handling / Tug / Supply and Subsea Service Vessel designed by Ulstein Ship Technology AS; Design dept.; to satisfy the new demands of the offshore industry as oil exploration and oil production moves into deeper waters. The UT 742 is designed and arranged for a wide range of subsea installation works and services; and can also be arranged for light drilling and similar services. M/S «Normand Progress» is built with one work and pipelaying moon pool and one ROV moon pool. M/S «Normand Progress» is equipped and certified as a «Class II» vessel; and is prepared for a later conversion to «Class III».
