Your impact
As Marine Systems Lead Engineer, you take ownership of how the vessel functions at its core. You design and integrate all ship systems from early ideas and schematic sketches all the way to system diagrams that guide construction. You translate operational demands into robust, balanced engineering decisions and ensure that systems work together as one coherent whole.
You collaborate directly with clients, suppliers and classification societies, and you support the shipyard as your design becomes reality. You help maintain and enrich our internal knowledge base and provide guidance to colleagues who benefit from your experience.
Sustainability is a meaningful part of your work. You help introduce smarter, cleaner and more energy efficient system concepts and explore technologies that contribute to lower emissions and improved vessel performance across the lifecycle.
What you will do
- Design and analyse all ship systems from schematic sketches to complete system diagrams
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and offer technical support
- Work closely with other disciplines to ensure smooth integration of systems across the vessel
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the engineering team
- Stay aware of new technologies and sustainability trends to strengthen our engineering approach
- Build and maintain our knowledge base with solutions and best practices
- Manage project timelines and ensure timely delivery of system engineering outputs
Who you are
You are passionate about ship design. Not just the theory, but the feeling of seeing your work become real at a yard. You enjoy turning complexity into clarity and like being part of a team where ideas flow easily and people help each other without ego. You are curious by nature, practical in your approach and motivated by designing vessels that perform and last.
You bring:
- A Bachelor or Master in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- About 8 years of experience in marine or machinery systems engineering
- A solid understanding of rules, standards and integration principles
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Interest in sustainable, future proof engineering
