On-site support for your shipbuilding projects

Ulstein's on-site support is offered to clients all over the world. China is a central hub where we have been present with several companies since 2004. We have substantial activity at our Shanghai sales office and site teams at various yards.

We can be present through all stages of a shipbuilding project, from pre-sales (business advisory) to service and aftermarket after the vessel has been delivered.

European shipowners have requested their fleet renewal to be built in China for many years. Ulstein has successfully cooperated with several shipyards in China on ship designs, equipment packages, installations and site follow-up deliveries.

And to secure short delivery lines, we produce switchboards and cabinets at our factory in Ningbo.

Invest in project teams

Our customers must be confident they get a good design and a proper integrated equipment package. The on-site support and the local follow-up are essential for our end deliveries and our reputation in China. That’s why we invest so much in setting up experienced project teams to do the follow-up.

Cooperation across borders

Feedback from SWS

Two PX121 designed PSVs have been built at SWS Offshore, Shanghai, and operate on a long-term charter for China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL). Owner is Sinoocean. In addition to PSV duties, the vessels have been prepared for increased accommodation and provisions for crane and ROV installation for possible assignments in the IMR market. The vessels have been built in compliance with Clean Design and Comfort Class. They are satisfying IMO’s SPS Code (Special Purpose Ships) for carrying up to 60 specialised personnel, and carries the OILREC class notation for oil recovery in emergency situations.

Bringing live vessel data ashore with the BLUE BOX onboard opens endless opportunities. Our experience with system deliveries show that a shipowner can reduce the fuel consumption. This is done by analysing the vessel’s data and thereby operate the vessel smarter and more efficiently with actionable insights. Transmitting data ashore will lead to better vessel management as well as a more efficient fleet handling. When analysing data to support and evaluate your decisions, you stand a better chance of getting the best out of your vessels' potential.
