"We are extremely pleased to have won this important contract," states Gunnar H. Hide, managing director at Ulstein Power & Control.
The delivery to the yacht includes several complete packages of systems for automation, surveillance and control (ULSTEIN IAS™), communication (ULSTEIN COM™), integrated bridge solution (ULSTEIN BRIDGE™), distribution and propulsion of power systems (ULSTEIN POWER™), dynamic positioning and power control systems (ULSTEIN PMS™).
"This contract means much to us. It has been a tight competition with several large companies, and as Ulstein Power & Control has been chosen to deliver the complete package means that we are not only cost competitive, but also a partner who can deliver modern systems and solutions that prepare the ships for the digital future. To us, this is highly appreciated," says Hide.
Digitisation of vessels
ULSTEIN IAS™ is based on the novel system architecture, ULSTEIN X-CONNECT™. This architecture raises products for marine control, alarm and surveillanxe to a new and much more flexible and scaleable standard. Additionally, with ULSTEIN X-CONNECT the shipowner can opt for a ship-to-shore transfer of data. This data can be analysed in a way that valuable information that can be used for decision making support, maintenance and optimisation of ship operations.
Safer marine operations
"ULSTEIN IAS has been developed for the end user, and the focus is placed on simple and efficient user support. Many accidents occur as results of human errors due to insufficient decision making support in stressed situations. Our goal is to help reducing the number of unwanted incidents and to secure sustainable marine operations for our customers," ends Hide.
