Bollard pull tests at Ulstein Verft

Ulstein Verft offers a dedicated tow test point for static pull tests under safe and controlled conditions. The facility includes a test wire replaced and certified in 2026 and supports trials as part of sea trials, vessel verification programmes and operational testing.

What is a bollard pull test?

A bollard pull test measures a vessel's static pulling force at zero speed against a fixed point using a towline and load monitoring. The results provide documented verification of towing performance for acceptance trials, contractual requirements and operational planning.

Dry dock and dock hall

The controlled environment within a dry dock provides an optimal setting for ship construction and ship repair projects. Shielded from the elements, our workers can operate safely and efficiently, unfazed by inclement weather or turbulent waters. This climate-controlled haven ensures precise measurements and fittings and enhances the vessels' longevity and durability, reinforcing our commitment to delivering uncompromising quality.

Coldbending of pipes at Ulstein Verft

Pipe fabrication and cold bending

Our cold bending process results in pipes of consistent quality and long service life. The process shapes the pipes without heating, preserving the material properties and reducing internal stresses. At the same time, it minimises the need for welded joints, increasing structural integrity and reducing the risk of leaks.

Through our affiliated company, we also offer hot-dip galvanising, an effective, long-term corrosion protection solution for steel structures and components.

Hot dip galvanising at Vestsink

Hot-dip galvanising

We offer hot-dip galvanising services through our wholly owned subsidiary, Vestsink, a specialised provider with more than 50 years of experience. Galvanising provides effective, long-term corrosion protection for steel structures and components, supporting durability and reduced maintenance over the vessel or asset lifecycle.
