Steel cutting Yno 319 Olympic

Steel cutting Yno 319 for Olympic

On 30th December 2022, the steel cutting started for yard number 319, the second of two CSOVs of Ulstein’s ship design. Both are planned for delivery in 2024.

The steel cutting has commenced for Olympics YNO 319

In July 2022, Olympic ordered 2 (+2) vessels of the SX222 design. The vessels have hybrid battery propulsion and are prepared for methanol fuel to enable zero emissions.

The vessels implement the TWIN X-STERN® hull design, a nominee for the Innovation Award, from Ulstein Design & Solutions. The TWIN X-STERN is a solution where the ship has two sterns and main propeller units in each end to increase flexibility and operability.

The steel cutting for the first vessel was held in November 2022. At the steel cutting for Yno 319, site inspector Tomasz Bieniek executed the first cut.
