Effective from 1 September 2026, Knut L. Barstad assumes the position of Managing Director of Ulstein Verft. Barstad currently serves as Deputy Managing Director at the yard and has worked at Ulstein since 2018.
At the same time, Lars Lühr Olsen steps down after seven years as Managing Director and takes on a new role as Sales Director at Ulstein Verft.
Ulstein Group would like to thank Olsen for his contribution and looks forward to continuing to benefit from his experience in his new role. We also congratulate Barstad on his appointment and wish him every success as he leads Ulstein Verft into its next chapter.
The cable-lay vessel will undergo a comprehensive yard stay, with several disciplines contributing to the project.
Ulstein Municipality has been named Maritime Municipality of the Year 2026. On 23 June 2026, Hanwha Philly Shipyard delivered the subsea rock installation vessel (SRIV) Acadia to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock. The vessel is the first of its kind under the U.S. flag and is designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions B.V. in the Netherlands.
