Ulstein's representatives for the inclining test were Enwang Liu and Ford Liu (Ulstein China) and Radovan Gasparovic and Adrian Fotache (Ulstein Design & Solutions AS). The ZPMC inclining test leader was Li Chao.
Prototype vessel design
"The ULSTEIN SX197 is a prototype vessel and has not yet been built anywhere else. The inclining test went very smoothly. I'm very happy to say that I've clearly seen that all the good practices learnt on the previous vessel (ULSTEIN SX195) have been re-used and even improved on the ULSTEIN SX197. The entire ZPMC team was performing very well both before and during the test. I had the feeling that we had done this ten times before and not only once," says Radovan and continues:
"As a result, the test itself was accomplished in a very short time. All the people involved: ZPMC, the China Class Society (CCS), the owner representatives, and Ulstein were happy with the process."
The first purpose-made SOVs for the Chinese Offshore Wind industry
The ship design contract between the ZPMC shipyard and Ulstein Design & Solutions AS was signed in early 2022 and includes the basic designs for two types of Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) for Shanghai Electric Windpower Group. These are the first purpose-made SOVs designed for the Chinese Offshore Wind industry.
