The test was held at the ZPMC yard in Qidong, China, a pleasant first inclining test site for the Ulstein personnel, led by the Radovan Gasparovic, who, together with Adrian Fotache works in Ulstein Design & Solutions AS, with support from the project manager Enwang Liu and assistant project manager Ford Liu from Ulstein's Shanghai office.
"All went well; the result of the inclining test was great, with the vessel's weight and VCG (Vertical Centre of Gravity) exactly as we had expected. The cooperation with the ZPMC Yard was excellent", states Adrian Fotache.
A second vessel for Shanghai Electric, an ULSTEIN SX197 design, is also being constructed at the yard, and the inclining test for this vessel is planned for early next year.
In January 2022, the ZPMC shipyard and Ulstein Design & Solutions AS signed the ship design contract on two types of SOVs for Shanghai Electric Windpower Group.
