Ship history

The Nexans Electra, an ST-297 CLV design by Skipsteknisk, is an updated version of the Nexans Aurora, delivered in 2021. She is designed specifically to transport and lay high-voltage subsea cables, including cable bundles, and to support recovery and repair. She can perform effectively in challenging weather conditions and has exceptional characteristics in manoeuvrability and station-keeping.

Milestones

Specially developed cable‑handling equipment, a high degree of redundancy in critical systems, and great crew facilities are key to ensuring safe and efficient project execution. The first assignments in 2026 and 2027 will include both offshore wind projects and power‑exchange cables in the North Sea and the Mediterranean.
