Yno 315 to be named WINDEA JULES VERNE

Bernhard Schulte's Offshore wind newbuild, yno 315 at Ulstein Verft, will be named 'WINDEA JULES VERNE'. The vessel has received her name after one of the world's most popular adventure writers, who was born in Nantes where GE’s Offshore Wind business is located. The vessel will work for GE at the Merkur wind farm.

Do you remember the books "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "From the Earth to the Moon" or "Around the World in Eighty Days" ? Amongst many others, these are the most famous books written by one of the world's most popular adventure writers ? Jules Verne.

Next to his passion for science fiction, he loved the sea and sailed around Europe in his boat Saint-Michel.

The Service Operation Vessel 'WINDEA JULES VERNE' has been designed and built by Ulstein for Bernhard Schulte Offshore. She will be used by the GE operations team at the Merkur Offshore wind farm.

13 November 2024: Ulstein is proud to announce the successful delivery of the Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) Olympic Notos to Olympic. This state-of-the-art vessel marks a significant milestone in maritime innovation and excellence. “As a result of the findings from her sister ship, Olympic Boreas, the shipping company states that the vessels "operate with close to a 50% reduction in fuel consumption compared to other sailing CSOVs."
