5 September 2025 – Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BS Offshore) has taken delivery of its latest state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), WINDEA Clausius, yard number 321, from Ulstein Verft.
On 11 March 2025, the hull of yard number (Yno) 321 for BS Offshore arrived at Ulstein Verft. This marks the beginning of a new phase in the shipbuilding process. The vessel is designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS for ‘walk-to-work’ (W2W) operations, where personnel walks via a motion-compensated gangway from the ship to a wind turbine.
BS Offshore and Ulstein Verft has passed a significant milestone with the launch of the Yno 320, a state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV).
The hull of the first TWIN X-STERN Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) for BS Offshore arrived Ulstein Verft on 18 December 2024. This milestone marks the start-up of the outfitting for Yard Number 320 at Ulstein Verft.
Both the Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) that Bernhard Schulte Offshore ordered from Ulstein in 2023 are currently under construction. In February, a keel lay ceremony was held for the first newbuild, Yno 320, at Crist hull yard in Gdynia, Poland. Now, the second vessel, Yno 321, can celebrate this important milestone.
The two Ulstein-designed CSOV newbuilds under construction for Bernhard Schulte Offshore have reached important milestones. The steel cutting and keel laying ceremonies for yno 321 and 320, respectively, were arranged at the Crist hull yard, Poland, on 30 January 2024.
The steel-cutting ceremony for the first of two TWIN X-STERN CSOV vessels for Bernhard Schulte Offshore was a cause for celebration on 31 October 2023.
Bernhard Schulte Offshore returns to Ulstein Verft for the design and construction of two Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) of the ULSTEIN SX222 design.
Ulstein Verft has delivered the Service Operation Vessel ‘WINDEA JULES VERNE’ to Bernhard Schulte Offshore GmbH. The hybrid vessel will work at the Merkur Offshore Wind farm, where she will be operating for GE Renewable Energy.
The Service Operation Vessel WINDEA JULES VERNE has been tested over several days. On a sea trial, all systems are tuned and tested in the presence of the designer, yard and owner representatives, and the results duly noted and testified by certified controllers. The ship is now in her final construction phase.
Bernhard Schulte's Offshore wind newbuild, yno 315 at Ulstein Verft, will be named 'WINDEA JULES VERNE'. The vessel has received her name after one of the world's most popular adventure writers, who was born in Nantes where GE’s Offshore Wind business is located. The vessel will work for GE at the Merkur wind farm.
The next Service Operation Vessel (SOV) for Bernhard Schulte, Yard Number 315 at Ulstein Verft, was floated out from the yard’s dock hall on Sunday afternoon, 26 January 2020. The hybrid vessel has now been positioned in the outer dock for further outfitting and testing.
The Energy Management System on Bernhard Schulte’s next offshore wind vessel was recently tested in the lab at Ulstein. Soon, real-life testing will commence when the vessel leaves for sea trial.
