Constructing Olympic's first CSOV TWIN X-STERN vessels
Ulstein Verft delivered two CSOV vessels for Olympic in 2024. Follow the vessel projects from start til completion here.
The ULSTEIN SX222 vessels have a length of 89.6m and a beam of 19.2m, accommodating 126 people in 91 cabins. The vessels are designed for future requirements at offshore wind farms and are among the first based on the TWIN X-STERN® solution with main propulsors fore and aft. The vessels are powered by diesel-electric propulsion with variable speed and large battery energy storage systems. They are prepared for methanol fuel and have space for additional battery capacity for full-electric repowering when the infrastructure is available. The hull shape and hybrid propulsion system ensure high operational performance, seakeeping, and a substantially reduced footprint.
