In November 2023, former CEO Gunvor Ulstein returned to Ulstein Group as acting CEO. In an Ulstein Group Board meeting on 25 January 2024, she was appointed CEO of Ulstein Group.
On 19 January 2024, on the day four months after signing the shipbuilding contract, Nexans Marine Operations AS and Ulstein Verft could celebrate the start of the construction of Nexans’ next cable laying vessel. Attending the steel cutting ceremony at the Crist hull yard were representatives from Nexans, Ulstein Verft, DNV and Crist.
At the end of 2023, Ulstein Verft finished the conversion of the Fugro Resilience on time. Originally a platform supply vessel (PSV) of the ULSTEIN PX121 design, it has now been repurposed as a vessel for geotechnical operations.
Ulstein Verft will construct two CSOVs based on the ULSTEIN SX222 design. The contracts have been entered into on behalf of institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management and include two additional options.
Green milestone: Ulstein Verft attains ISO 14001, Environmental Standard.
Ulstein Group CEO, Cathrine Kristiseter Marti, has decided to take on a new opportunity outside the Group and will resign from her position. Ulstein Group's former CEO, Gunvor Ulstein, will be constituted CEO from 29 November 2023.

On 19 September 2023, Nexans Marine Operations AS and Ulstein Verft entered into a contract on the construction of a large DP3 cable laying vessel.
Bernhard Schulte Offshore returns to Ulstein Verft for the design and construction of two Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) of the ULSTEIN SX222 design. The contract includes options for four additional vessels.
On 20 June 2023, at the Electric & Hybrid Marine Expo Europe in Amsterdam, ULSTEIN THOR was announced as the winner of the Concept Vessel Design of the Year Award.

Ulstein Design & Solutions AS has signed a contract with Tersan Shipyard for two methanol-fuelled ULSTEIN SX216 Construction Service Operating Vessel (CSOV) designs. The vessels will be constructed for the Netherlands-based Acta Marine and will be number 3 and 4 with the novel TWIN X-STERN solution in the Acta fleet.
