Ulstein Digital joins Veracity by DNV partner network to advance sustainable maritime operations

Ulstein Digital, a newly established subsidiary of Ulstein Group, has officially joined Veracity by DNV’s partner network. The partnership enables seamless integration between Ulstein’s data platform and Veracity by DNV, automatically transferring validated MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) data into DNV’s verification service. This automation significantly reduces manual workload, saving time and resources for maritime operators.

The heavy lift pipelay vessel, ‘JSD 6000’, is a customised ULSTEIN SOC5000 design. The 215m long DP3 vessel is equipped with a 5,000t revolving main crane and will be cable of performing J-lay and S-lay pipelay work in max water depths of 3,000m.. The combination of heavy lift and S-Lay capabilities together with J-Lay functionality via a large, off-centre moonpool, allows the vessel to serve deepwater and SURF markets as well as shallow-water EPCI projects. Totally three Ulstein ship designs win Work Boat World Awards for 2024

Three of Ulstein's designs are among the Work Boat World Awards 2024 winners. Tamhae 3 clinched the 'Best Large Research Vessel' award, Olympic Boreas was named 'Best CSOV', and JSD 6000 took home the 'Best Derrick Layer' accolade from Baird Maritime/Work Boat World. These awards celebrate the best vessels in their categories, judged on design, build quality, and functionality.

TWIN X-STERN vessel: The construction of the next CSOV for BS Offshore starts at Ulstein Verft

On 11 March 2025, the hull of yard number (Yno) 321 for BS Offshore arrived at Ulstein Verft. This marks the beginning of a new phase in the shipbuilding process. The vessel is designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS for ‘walk-to-work’ (W2W) operations, where personnel walks via a motion-compensated gangway from the ship to a wind turbine.

Ulstein designs pioneering heavy lift vessel for Penta-Ocean Construction

Penta-Ocean Construction, a prominent Japanese general contractor, has commissioned Ulstein Design & Solutions B.V. to design its new heavy lift vessel for offshore wind foundation installation. The customised ULSTEIN HX118 design will feature a 5,000-ton Huisman main crane and the ULSTEIN U-STERN™, which enables the installation of increasingly larger monopile foundations.

Introducing ULSTEIN® POWER VSG: Setting new standards in marine power efficiency

The ULSTEIN® POWER Variable Speed Generator (VSG) has been designed to optimise power generation on marine vessels by dynamically adjusting its speed to match load requirements. Together with technical measures and overall ship design, the operational results on the CSOV Olympic Boreas show a record-low 2.7-tonne fuel consumption per 24 hours during a week of DP operations.
